Autism[]

I've updated the page to include speculation that Brun has autism. Looking over the comics, Brun's behavior falls in line with behavior of an individual with Autism Spectrum disorder. She has social problems, including brunt speech, limited communication, unusual behavior, and a lack of understanding of other individual's emotions. From  the National Autism Association's guide to signs of autism, here are the characterizations:

  • social impairments
  • cognitive impairments
  • communication difficulties
  • repetitive behaviors

And here are the major signs Brun displays:

  • Avoid eye contact
  • Want to be alone
  • Have difficulty understanding, or showing understanding, or other people’s feelings or their own
  • Give unrelated answers to questions
  • Get upset by minor changes
  • Have obsessive interests
  • Have unusual reactions (over or under-sensitivity) to the way things sound, smell, taste, look, or feel
  • Have low to no social skills
  • Have unusual interests and behaviors
  • Line up toys or other objects
  • Become upset by minor changes
  • Have obsessive interests

Rename the page?[]

"Warning! This can be a drastic and unexpected change for a popular page; please be sure you understand the consequences of this before proceeding.", saith the wiki software about renaming a page.

Should we rename this from "Brun" to "Brun Khoury"?

Is it cold in here? (talk) 03:55, March 4, 2019 (UTC)

I think we should. Brun would (automatically, I think) become a redirect to Brun Khoury. We already have Faye redirect to Faye Whitaker. —andrybak (talk) 07:29, March 4, 2019 (UTC)
✅ Done. —andrybak (talk) 08:10, March 14, 2019 (UTC)

Consistent tense[]

The new Biography topic, "Moving in with Renee", is expressed in past tense, whereas the rest of the page, except for
""The Nasty Whale"

... She subsequently moved in with Renee."
is in the conventional present tense. I find the inconsistency jarring. Shall I just change it?

Sure, MAC089. Don't hesitate if you think something can be improved. Edits are very welcome! —andrybak (talk) 10:17, April 15, 2020 (UTC)
Thanks! MAC089 (talk) 06:29, April 16, 2020 (UTC)
Thank you so much for bringing this up. I've been incorrectly trying to follow this passage from Wikipedia article on Narration: "In narration using the past tense [...] this is by far the most common tense in which stories are expressed." After your edit I went to check and found wikipedia:WP:FICTENSE. Thanks again. —andrybak (talk) 08:36, April 16, 2020 (UTC)
