Emmett Bennett is a friend of Sam,[2] also 14 years old.[3] They[1] recently moved to Northampton from a small town in Canada,[4][5] where they apparently used to get into various kinds of trouble.[6][7] They are very shy, at least around unfamiliar people, and get bullied at school.[1] They have a huge crush on Sam.[8][3]
Emmett lives with their mother,[9] Becky Bennett, apparently a teacher of Sam's.[10]
